Fifty Shades of Grey Movie Banned in some Countries for its Sexual Content

The first volume in a trilogy by E.L. James, is now released and hitting the cinemas and 57 international markets like a big wave this week. As many fans of the novel is very excited to watch this movie, some other fans sadly cannot watch the movie on big screen.
Some countries reportedly banned the said movile for its strong sexual contents and not meeting the country's censorship standards.

The countries that banned the Fifty Shades of Grey from theaters are China, Malaysia, Indonesia and Kenya.

China was the world's second-largest film market and sexually explicit movies do not make it past Chinese government censors.

Kenya didn't gave any statement why they banned the movie, but the country is censoring sexually explicit movie, just like the blockbuster movie "The Wolf of Wall Street," which also banned in country.

In Malaysia, Malaysian Film Censorship Board has denied Fifty Shades of Grey didn't granted and denied a certificate to the release of the movie in their country. Abdul Halim Abdul Jamid, the chairman of the ratings board, said that it is, "more pornography than movie."

During the premiere of the movie Fifty Shades at London, the author E.L. James is already aware and said on her interview, "Oh, the book was banned in a few countries. "It’s great publicity, and you know the DVD will come out and hopefully they'll get to see it then." she added.

The National Center on Sexual Exploitation and Stop Porn Culture still continuing and supporting the #50dollarsnot50shades campaign, that boycotting the movie for its domestic abuse content and bashing the  Hollywood for trying to make money on a film that romanticizes the abuse of women.

Even many countries banned the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, still many countries are welcoming it, including the Britain, Germany, Austriali, Hong Kong, Russia, Japan, Singapore and many other more.
Many fans of the novel are asking if the other two books will be brought to big screen, but the Universal didn't said anything about it.
In Philippines, the movie is already released in cinemas and theaters last February 11, under R-18 rating.
