Taylor Swift No. 1 IFPI Global Recording Artist of 2014

The International Trade Group IFPI announced Taylor Swift as Global Recording Artist of 2014 as her fifth album 1989 sold over 8.6 million of copies worldwide, topped the iTunes sales charts in over 95 countries on its released and included in Billboard 200 chart for almost 11 weeks with her latest single "Shake It Off".

This IFPI award reflects the global popularity of recording artists across the diverse ways in which fans choose to listen to music today," CEO Francis Moore said.

Her three albums hit 1 million plus-week sales figure, the only artist in music history since The Beatles to log six or more weeks at No. 1 in the U.S., and now she's the most popular recording artist worldwide in physical sales, online streaming and downloads.
